FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Tom Brady Named New Honorary Chairman of the 2012 Rodman Ride for Kids.

Foxboro, MA – June 25, 2012 –Rodman Ride for Kids announced today that Tom Brady will serve as their Honorary Chairman.

The New England Patriot quarterback and two-time Super Bowl MVP is looking forward to partnering with the Foxboro-based charity, whose mission is to help every child in our community live as we would want our own children to live.

“The Ride for Kids’ unique collaborative fundraising model is unprecedented, and as a parent I immediately connected with a cause that supports so many children in our community,” says Brady. Last year, over 100,000 children were served through Ride-funded programs. All expenses from the event are underwritten, allowing 100% of the funds raised by the Rodman Ride and its 48 affiliate charitable agencies go directly to children in need.

“We are honored to have Tom Brady representing the Ride for Kids,” notes Don Rodman, President and Founder of the Ride for Kids.  “His reputation in our community is stellar, and his support will increase awareness as we work to raise even more funds for kids who need help and deserve opportunities for success.”

The Ride for Kids is the #1 single-day athletic fundraiser in the United States that solely supports at-risk kids.  Over $61 million has been raised since the Ride’s inception in 1991, including the $9.1 million raised in 2011.

The Rodman Ride for Kids is an umbrella matching gift charity raising funds for youth-focused social service agencies in Massachusetts.  The Ride and its 48 affiliate agencies fundraise collaboratively, year-round, culminating with the Rodman Ride for Kids event, a 25, 50 and 100-mile non-competitive cycling tour, each fall.
