Mayor Curtatone of Somerville shares his reading thrills!

Joe-Curtatone“The thrill of reading is one of the most important values instilled in me as a young child.

It is knowing that just a few words from even the shortest story can transport you to an entirely new world that you have created through your own imagination. Whether you are reading a full fiction novel, an autobiography or other factual account, or a series of short poems, you have the power to create the scene in your mind’s eye. How many other activities give you that sense of autonomy? It’s not only liberating, it’s exercise for your brain.”
