RAR-MA is Named an Opportunity Portfolio Partner of Boston Public Schools

In an effort to increase equitable access to high quality learning opportunities for its students and families, Boston Public Schools (BPS) launched the Opportunity Portfolio. Through a detailed vetting process, BPS selects outstanding organizations that provide additional learning opportunities, called Portfolio Partners.

For this school year, BPS focused on its STEM/Literacy Opportunity Portfolio and selected Raising A Reader MA (RAR-MA) as a Portfolio Partner in the Literacy category. This school-community partnership is mutually beneficial to RAR-MA and BPS and has the ultimate goal of reaching more families and meeting the needs of those families.

RAR-MA Boston Program Manager, Catalina Rojas, led the effort to solidify this partnership. “We are very excited to be identified by Boston Public Schools as an ‘exceptional School-Community Partner’ and to be recognized for our efforts in helping families of young children develop early literacy skills and habits, as a means of promoting school readiness and helping to close the achievement gap. We look forward to developing this new partnership and finding ways to increase Boston families’ access to our programs,” remarks Catalina.

Currently, RAR-MA partners with 2 of the BPS elementary schools. If you would like to bring RAR-MA to your BPS, please contact us at [email protected].
