Raising A Reader MA is a proud participant of the Rodman Ride for Kids. Our riders will ride 25, 50, or 100 miles on September 23rd and have been hard at work fundraising in our honor. Even better, the funds they raise will be matched by the Rodman Ride by 3%.
Each week until the ride we’ll be highlighted one of our riders. This week, it’s Joshua Schaer, an operating partner for Freshii, Boston. Joshua is a committed member of our Emerging Leaders Board, and a veteran Rodman participant. Here’s what he had to say about participating:
“I am riding for RAR-MA for the 3rd year after joining the Emerging Leaders Board. I found RAR-MA through a friend who was as passionate about reading and getting involved on a board as I am. Once my journey began, I spent time spreading awareness and raising money for this wonderful cause. Mid-way through my first Emerging Leaders year I was surprised to find out that one of my hardest working employees attended RAR-MA events in Chelsea with her daughter. She had vowed to give her own a child a step up that wasn’t available for her when she immigrated to America. That moment really resounded with me and rededicated my interest in helping as many other Boston families as I could.”
Thanks for your support, Josh! We know you’ll rock the ride in September. Joshua is over a third of the way toward his goal of raising $1500 for the ride. Want to help him, and Raising A Reader MA? Donate to Josh’s ride here.
