We’re excited to welcome Angela Haynes to the Raising A Reader MA team as our new Director of Development. Angela brings a wealth of knowledge to this role with over 20 years of development experience in the nonprofit sector. She’s successfully raised funds between $650K and $4.3M for various organizations.

Reading has always been an important value to her family and she has been reading to her now three year old since before he was born. “Reading provides opportunities to learn and reflect – special moments shared with others or enjoyed on your own. I’m thrilled to join such a wonderful team to support this life-changing work that’s making literacy resources accessible to every child in Massachusetts.”

Most recently, Angela worked as Director of Corporate & Foundations at The Children’s Trust. Previously, she served as Director of Development at The Carroll Center for the Blind, Lovin’ Spoonfuls Inc., and Boston Cyclists Union.

She has also worked in marketing, events, and account management at for-profit organizations including Direxxis, MoldFlow, THD, L.W. Robbins, and Aspect Medical Systems.

Angela graduated from the University of Hartford with a BA in Communications with a Minor in Sociology. She is a graduate of Boston University’s Institute for Nonprofit Leadership, and she obtained her Certified Fund Raising Executive status in 2022. In addition to reading, she enjoys running, cycling, skiing, and she loves to travel.
