March 1, 2018 – Each month the Massachusetts Business Roundtable (MBR), a public policy organization comprised of chief executive officers and senior executives, sends out an Executive Director’s Message, known as “Around the Table.” This month’s letter highlighted the Raising A Reader in the Workplace program. RAR-MA boardmember Heather Dickinson of Deloitte brought this program to the attention of MBR as a way to improve the workforce talent pool pipeline.
She discusses the pilot iniative of the Raising A Reader in the Workplace at Unifirst, a global uniform manufacturer with three facilities in Massachusetts. Cynthia Croatti, Executive Vice President of Unifirst is quoted in the letter saying, “By offering an enhanced employee benefit that assists with developing early literacy skills, we’re helping to improve their lives and the community, as well as preparing the next generation of readers and leaders.”
