Members of the Raising A Reader MA staff secretly love reading the Proust Questionnaire in the back of Vanity Fair. We decided to share our own version of this personality test with thriller writer (and Northeastern University professor) Gary Braver (Tunnel Vision, 2011) and the other VIP Authors attending our 2013 Dinner with an Author fundraising event at the Hampshire House.
What is your favorite book? One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey
Who is your favorite fictional hero or heroine? Robert Parker’s Spenser
Who is your favorite real life hero or heroine? Spenser’s Robert Parker (he was an old friend)
If you could have dinner with one author, living or dead, who would it be? William Shakespeare. To ask him if he wrote all his own stuff.
If you could choose one place to live for the rest of your life, where would it be? The Big Sur
What is your motto? “It’s not over until you win.”
What talent would you most like to have? To play the piano
What was your proudest moment? My two sons, Nathan and David. Also, winning a Massachusetts Book award for my novel, FLASHBACK.
What do you think is the most overrated virtue? MY modesty.
