In light of recent events which are increasing stressors in our country, our state, and in our cities, one thing is clear: now more than ever we need to reinforce the need for reading. The divide in the literacy opportunity gap has become even more evident. Education is a large part of the solution to these social justice issues, as it is intrinsically linked to healthcare, education and our current and future workforce. The pandemic and the educational inequity has disproportionately attacked our most vulnerable communities and revealed even more disparities. We believe unequivocally in breaking the cycle of low literacy and are committed to the work that needs to be done to make sure our shared commitment and work succeeds for a better world.
We are determined and impassioned by our mission to end the literacy opportunity gap.
Be well and safe.
