Raising A Reader MA develops partnerships with many different types of early education and family service providers in strategically selects cities and towns to deliver our evidence-based, core program model. We select the communities based on the intensity of the need and the strength of a communities commitment to improving the educational and economic futures of their youngest learners. We are currently working in the following communities:
- Boston
- Chelsea
- Brockton
- Lawrence
- Lowell
- Revere
- NEW! Springfield
- Tri-City (Everett, Malden, Medford).
Our goal is to saturate communities with our signature red bag book rotation and parent training series. We partner closely with the public school system, and formal and informal systems of early education and care (e.g. Head Start) to introduce Raising A Reader MA program as an instructional tool.
We know, however, that many children are not enrolled in a formal early learning center or day care program. To ensure these children and their families also have access to Raising A Reader MA’s high impact programs, we also build close partnerships with early learning councils organized by groups like the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement (CFCE) grantees to find identify other community centers where families of young children may find parenting support, such as churches and centers for adult learning. We then reach out to gatekeepers in these organizations to invite them to bring Raising A Reader MA to their children and families.
