Mouse Shapes is the perfect way to introduce a conversation with your child about the math that we find hidden in the world’s shapes.
After reading, choose an activity to do with your child. Here is a list of some that we have found for you!
Extension Activities:
- Take a walk through your neighborhood! Notice the shapes of houses and street signs, and talk about them together.
- Play with toys that have clear and distinct shapes! Find some Legos, blocks, or balls where you and your child can see, feel and manipulate the shapes together.
- Make a collage! Find an old (age appropriate) magazine or newspaper, and cut out the shapes that you find. Then, paste them together on a larger piece of paper. You can hang up your masterpieces on the fridge for display!
