First Annual Raising A Reader Goodnight Moon Gala - May 14

We would like to extend our thanks to all who came out and supported the Goodnight Moon Gala to benefit Raising A Reader MA.  We were thrilled by the results of our first year event and are so very grateful to our event supporters.  Thank you.

The event raised $250,000 to further the Raising A Reader mission throughout Greater Boston, Lawrence, and beyond.  Together we transformed the Davio’s Galleria into a magical setting where we sampled appetizers prepared by Boston’s finest chefs, enjoyed an unforgettable dinner prepared especially for our guests by Davio’s and were thoroughly entertained by Susan Wornick and Glenn Ordway as they ushered us through an action packed program.

We were proud to honor Mr. Don Rodman, a true philanthropic citizen of Massachusetts. After a warm introduction by Patriot’s owner Robert Kraft, Don spoke eloquently about his love for his family, his passion for philanthropy, and his admiration of the Raising A Reader mission.

ROCA Healthy Families' Family Literacy Event at the Chelsea Public Library - February 9

Raising A Reader partnered with ROCA Healthy Families to host a family literacy event for 12 children and families who participate in the Raising A Reader program. The event was held at the Chelsea Public Library with story-time and literacy activities for the children and families to do together, including making shapes with homemade playdough. The parents also got a tour of the library and learned about the variety of resources offered for both children and adults. Five parents received library cards and checked out materials for the first time ever at the end of the event.
